Propolis, “bee glue or bee penicilin” is the resinous material gathered by honeybees from flowers and leaf buds of various plants. They chew the resin, mixing it with their own beeswax and enzymes to make a glue which they use to line the entrance and interior of the hive. The Propolis acts to seal, disinfect and waterproof the bees and the hive.

Propolis on the other hand is produced by bees to cover their hive & protect it from bacteria, & is used in this soap for its restorative benefits. This soap is helpful for inflamed & blemished skin but is also suitable for cracked heels & hands, athlete’s foot & problem skins in general.

+ The TONIC:
The synergetic beehive. The tonic, high-energy substances within the beehive help to sustain a colony of active bees; they can do the same for the largest and fastest-growing organ in your body: your skin. These beehive ingredients help to rejuvenate and regenerate the skin:

  • Antimicrobial – prevents the growth of certain bacteria

  • Humectant or Hygroscopic – absorbs moisture from the air. Humectants are used in cosmetic products to help moisturize and smooth the skin. Honey does that naturally.

  • Antioxidant – by destroying free radicals, antioxidants on the skin will help protect the skin from sun damage and help it look younger longer.

  • Dry or Damaged Skin – because of its antioxidant and humectant properties, honey soap is great for dry or damaged skin.

  • Acne – because of its antimicrobial and antioxidant properties, raw honey helps kill bacteria that may cause acne and will help skin heal faster.

►A natural humectant with antioxidant and anti-bacterial properties, honey helps skin retain moisture.

►A natural source of protein for the hive, pollen contains high levels of antioxidants that protect the skin against free radicals. Loaded with skin-benefits, ground-up pollen works to exfoliate the skin in this soap.

►Bees secrete beeswax to store and cap the honey they collect from nectars and regurgitate. Integral to the structure of the hive, beeswax is also beneficial in our soap; it lends additional hardness to the soap bar.

►Bees use propolis to seal their hives, protecting it against diseases and invaders. Renown for its powerful anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, propolis works its magic on the skin by exfoliating and healing.

►Safflower oil: The high content of linoleic acid in safflower oil makes it ideal for boosting the quality and appearance of your skin. The linoleic acid can combine with sebum to unclog the pores and reduce blackheads, as well as acne, which is a result of sebum build-up under the skin. Furthermore, linoleic acid stimulates the regeneration of new skin cells, meaning that it helps to clear up scars and other blemishes from the surface of the skin, leaving you looking younger and more attractive!
